The Miners Way follows many of the paths used by miners going to work in the Arigna Mines. The Miners Way links with the Historical Trail which traverses the Curlew, Bricklieve & Arigna Mountains, passing many features of interest including Carrowkeel megalithic tombs, Labby rock & wind farms. The route passes areas that are renowned for Sequoia Trees. Boyle Historical Walking Trail an historical walking tour of Boyle possesses many of the threads that weave through the history of Ireland. Much has gone but the whisper of that history can still be heard as you walk the streets and look at buildings, monuments and the spaces where the people of Boyle have lived and died through the centuries.
Roscommon County Council has erected information boards on the trail with interesting information and images. 'Boyle Historical Walking Trail' book with images & historical facts available in Una Bhan Craft Shop grounds of King House, Boyle. Kilronan Loops, three different colour coded walks in the grounds of Kilronan Castle Estate & Spa, majestically set on the shores of Lough Meelagh, surrounded by acres of breathtaking Irish scenery, lush green pastures, ancient forests and historical points of interest.
The Bricklieve Mountains & Carrowkeel with its Megalithic tombs, have rough terrain & breathtaking scenery and the site of the largest concentration of passage tombs in Ireland, believed to have been constructed between 3000 and 2000 BC. Knockranny Wood Loop is a lovely peaceful loop walk set in a woodland setting, with gravel paths & boardwalks, suitable for average levels of fitness.
Lough Key Forest & Activity Park boasts unique attractions and trails.
